Joe Diamond here! I’ve been offering these Cold Reading Workshops over the last few years. Without a doubt, the most successful of these have been the workshops on PSYCHOMETRY.
I’ve been performing a version of Psychometry in almost every show for 15 years. I’ve done it on theater stages, in living rooms, outdoors, surrounded, even for rowdy teenagers! I’ve given over 4,000 psychometry readings just during this piece, and countless readings off stage.
I’ve even been ‘challenged’ after shows, where someone hands me their object and asks me what I ‘sensed’ about it. I was still able to give an accurate read on this object.
I’ve even done psychometry over ZOOM! This was often picked as a FAVORITE part of my virtual shows.

In this session, we’ll use psychometry to cover the subject of cold reading in general, as well as hot reading, show structure, character, your character’s powers, and improvisation.
We’ll cover methods like bags, envelopes, blindfolds and even just walking through the audience and letting them hand you objects.
We’ll cover how to avoid certain problems like diminishing impact as the routine goes on, handling emotional situations, and how to avoid getting boring objects.
